Kenny McLean Memorial Project
A life size bronze statue of Kenny McLean will be unveiled at Centennial Park in Okanagan Falls, British Columbia in May 2010. This lasting tribute to a great Canadian rodeo athlete is being funded by public support and through the sale of a limited edition of 100 replica bronzes. See the Life Size Bronze page to see the progress that artist Lois Hannah is making.   Updated May 19th.

Roy Henry Vickers Limited Edition Print - $300.00. Roy Vickers is one of Canada's best known first Nations Artists and a long time admirer of Kenny McLean. He has created a limited edition of 100 hand pulled silk screen prints honoring Kenny McLean and is donating all of the proceeds from this print issue to the Kenny Mclean Memorial fund. Kenny McLean was born May 17th, 1939 in Penticton and resided in Okanagan Falls. He started breaking colts for his Dad when he was just 12 years old and went on to rodeo competitions at the age of 17. He won 14 Canadian Championships and in 1962 was the World Saddle Bronc Champion He was inducted into the Canadian Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and was the only rodeo cowboy to be inducted in the BC Sports Hall of Fame. He also received Canada's' highest honor, the Order of Canada, again the only cowboy to ever receive such an honor. During his life he sponsored and ran rodeo schools, particularly for the young, training many future champions and many champions returned time after time to improve their skills at the sport. He encouraged young competitors right up until he passed away on July 13, 2002.

The Kenny McLean project Committee has received approval from Centennial Park in Okanagan Falls, BC, to proudly install the life-size bronze sculpture of OK Fall's very own rodeo champion, Kenny McLean. The bronze sculpture is estimated to be 18' high once complete.

The life size monument and limited edition marquettes are being created by Lois Hannah, www.loishannah.com Lois is a talented sculptor who has exhibited at major shows throughout North America including the Calgary Stampede and whose work can be found in private collections around the world. The spectacular bronze statue and replicas created by Lois depict Kenny McLean on the great bronc War Paint. The Life Size Bronze page shows the progress that artist Lois Hannah is making.
